I got 1 and 2 on GOG before they lost the rights, so that was simple enough. Then I decided to play them again since Fallout 4 is coming and I wanted to walk through the whole series. This worked fine and I enjoyed a nocd/nosteam experience until about two weeks ago. I bought Fallout 3 GotY and NV Ultimate (I like my DLCs) when they came out but never bothered with opening the packs since I just pirate them anyway. If I can find one and test it, I'll post here if it works. ALso, deleting FNV4GB fixes the issue (though the game is way more unstable) So, by now, only thing I guess works properly is cracking the game. There is also a supposed fix which involves changing the name of FNV4GB and launching Fake Fullscreen: i'm not sure, but what that fix does is just disallowing FNV4GB to run, since if you start it directly, still get the same errors.

Therefore, the problem is with Steam, since a cracked version and thus Steam-independent has no trouble. Reinstalled and literally copied the load order on FOMM same mods, same install, old games load with no trouble.except that, whenever I use FNV4GB with Compatibility Mode, I get this error.
Now here's the deal: At this summer Steam sales, I bought a legit copy of the Ultimate Edition.
